Good to know

Vaud is a French-speaking canton stretching from Lake Geneva to the Jura and the Alps. Lausanne is its capital; Yverdon-les-Bains, Montreux, Nyon, Vevey, Morges and Renens are other main towns. Under the cantonal lease rules (RULV), tenancies customarily end on 1 April, 1 July or 1 October at noon. The tenant then hands the flat back clean and emptied, so moving help and end-of-tenancy cleaning peak around those dates. Chèques-emploi, run by EPER, can declare the people you employ in your household.
